LA SCUOLA DEL VEDERE
logo_sdv_2010.png The "Scuola del Vedere" was founded in Trieste in 1988 by the art critic, painter and stage designer Luigi Danelutti, who studied under the great expressionist master Oskar Kokoschka in the 1960s. During his years as a student of Kokoschka, Danelutti gained the necessary psychological support from his teacher to found a Free Academy of Fine Arts in Trieste with similar features to Kokoschka’s own Schule des Sehens in Salzburg. The Austrian artist in fact became the school’s first governor.

After Danelutti's death in 1995 Donatella Surian took over management of the academy, maintaining the commitment towards fostering knowledge of the arts by offering courses, laboratories and workshops and organising contemporary art exhibitions as well as meetings with figures from the world of art and culture.

All teachers are well-known artists and professionals with specific skills and, thanks to the limit of 9 participants per class, one-to-one teaching is always guaranteed.

The art classes currently available are: drawing and painting (oil, pastel, acrylic and watercolour), working from the basic idea to the final composition, portraits, sculpture, art history with literary, history and philosophy references, cartoons, figure painting/drawing and children’s workshops.
